DR. Burry, thanks for posting this and giving us a glimpse into your head overall!

Thank you Dr Burry for this donation. Due to difficult circumstances within my own family , foster care became an important part of one of my loved ones’ mental health journey. Foster care pooy executed compounds these issues and “aging out” of the system can be problematic for those children seeking integration into society. Being thrust into very adult situations when their peers may be otherwise college bound , and still under the protection of parents or family is unfortunately the norm for these foster graduates. College assistance or vocational training can be useful here. I’m hoping that the Bales family is forward thinking in their approach to this process.

As a side note, is there a separate link Cassandra unchained subscribers can give to this charity outside of your generous donation if we wish to do so independently as a part of this community?

Thank you Ryan for your personal story, and I hear you. The first word of the first paragraph was the only hyperlink. That was an oversight, and I appreciate you bringing it up. Now the post has been changed so every time Together California appears, it is a hyperlink to donate.

I love the idea of supporting a charity, especially when it helps kids.

Very cool.

My grandmother was one of 10 children. When she was very young, her mother passed away. The younger kids, which included my grandmother, were all brought to an orphanage.

The orphanage made sure that the family was kept together. My grandmother always said that made a huge impact on her life. Her and her siblings were incredibly close their whole life.

It goes without saying that decision to keep my grandmother and her family together at the orphanage helped me, way down the road, in my life too.

Thanks for doing this Dr. Burry.

I did a little reading on "Together California," and i'm quite impressed with Mr Bale's efforts; i can tell he put not only his $ into it, but also his heart. This was 17 years in the making, and >$20M of his own funds. Really commendable. I would like to see us (this Substack) support this organization again sometime.

That’s an amazing story. Arthur Cashin the legend of the NYSE and my mentor taught me “Give” as it will come back to you “Ten Times” over. He said it doesn’t matter who you give to whether it’s your church, a homeless person living on the street, or a charity such as this. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story.

Go Canes baby !!!!

ABSOLUTELY LOVE everything about this post!! A little common sense goes a very long way. Investing in the future of humanity is always the right decision. And foster kids are a large part of that formula. I love it when they’re remembered, and this project puts them first. Excellent!

I would highly recommend APROQUEN. The charity is led by a plane crash survivor (5/200) who overcame third degree burns to create a foundation for survivors of burn injuries in poor countries. She is truly an inspiring woman who has created a better future for so many.

A firefighter named Justin Beebe died about 10 years ago on a fire called the Strawberry fire in Montana. He was in his early 20s. He is one of many young men and women who have passed in the line of duty. The wildland firefighter foundation helps families and firefighters in need. The fundraising has been done by a few small town partners but mostly through firefighters own paychecks. They get together to shoot trap and golf once a year.
